1942 Press Photo General George Marshall hands commission to Warren Pershing

Pershing's Son Gets Commission: General George C. Marshall, United States Army Chief of Staff (right), hands a second Lieutenant's Commission to Warren Francis Pershing after the son of General John J. Pershing graduated August 5 from the Corps of Engineers Officer Training School at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. General Marshall was on General Pershing's staff when the AEF commander was in France during the First World War.
