Mrs. William Barnet Celebrates Hannukah, Temple Beth Emeth. Mrs. William Barnet 2d lights the first candle in the menorah at Temple Beth Emeth to signal the beginning of Hanukkah at sundown today. An additional candle is lighted each sundown of the eight-day festival celebrated in Jewish homes and synagogues throughout the world, to commemorate the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem to the worship of God in the 2d Century, B.C.
