Elephants. Tuy Hoa, 18-month-old elephant, arrived in Tacoma Tuesday en route to its new home in the Portland, Oregon, Zoo. With the elephant is William Van Rhijn, crewman of the SS Charles Dant, who cared for the animal on the long voyage from Indochina.
