Guns - Artillery. Brandy Station, Virginia. These three men were injured today by an explosion as a shot was being rammed into the barrel of a Civil War type cannon. The accident took place during the re-enactment of a famous cavalry battle 100 years ago at Brandy Station. J.M. Harding of Vienna, Virginia, holds the ram rod at left which he was using when the gun exploded injuring him seriously. Bernie Mitchell, at right, suffered internal injuries by the recoil. Lee Wallace, center, was also injured.
