1954 Press Photo Airdropped rifles & machine guns to Tiquisate rebels,Guatemala

Guatemala (Government claims ammunition parachuted to rebels). These photos, released by the Guatemalan government, show, according to that country's Ministry of Propaganda and Information, rifles, top, and machine guns, bottom, parachuted into the city of Tiquisate by an unidentified plane on June 14. Parachutes in which arms allegedly were dropped are shown in top photo. Guatemala has complained to the United Nations that she is a victim of an "illegitimate international aggression". Rebel columns today were pushing into Guatemala from Honduras.
