Johnson, Lyndon B., Former President Lyndon B. Johnson reacts to a question by Walter Cronkite during second interview to be televised Friday by Columbia Broadcasting System. Johnson says Secretary of State Dean Rusk's argument that North Vietnam would not respond to a demand for a concession led him to order a conditional bombing halt on March 31, 1968.
