1967 Press Photo Soldiers escort alleged Russian captive in Syria - pio37944

Israel-Arab Conflict. London Express photographer Stanley Meagher took the picture in Syria and was told the captive was a Russian. Meagher did not see the prisoner with his blindfold off. In Tel Aviv Israeli military sources said they had no knowledge of any Russian military advisers being captured. The news story in London was that Russian voices were directing Syrian artillery fire. Later it was reported five Russian officers were captured. Israeli sources denied it all.
