Dogs - Retriever ("Always Ready"). The smallest part of this picture -- the dog -- is the most important. He is Ready Always of Marianhill, a Golden Retriever, winner of the national retriever championships at Carnation Farms, Sunday. The humans in the picture are, left to right, Claude Bekins, president of the National Retriever Trial Club, presenting the championship Field and Stream Trophy to M.B. Wallace Jr., St. Louis lumberman and pencil manufacturer, the dog's owner. William Wunderlich of Winona, Minnesota, the dog's trainer and handler, looks on.

Photo is dated 1951.

Photo measures 7.25 x 9 inches.
