Description
Russia (Train Station). This polished car of a Moscow subway train is seen in Tagansky station. The chandeliers and arched roof of the station are more modern than most, but still show the lavishness of equipment and decor. Khrushchev initiated and encouraged the first subway construction in the 1930s. Russian engineers aim to have, before long, driverless, automatic trains to carry any worker from home to factory in 15 minutes.

Photo is dated 1968.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
