U.S. Navy - Alaska. The Hon. Francis P. Matthews, Secretary of Navy, arrived at Kodiak, Alaska today en route back to Washington after an extensive inspection tour of naval installation in the Pacific and Far East. During his stay at Kodiak, Secretary Matthews inspected naval installations here, and conferred with Lt. General William E. Kepner, USAF, Commander in Chief, Alaskan Command, and Rear Admiral Clifton Sprague, USN, Commander, Alaska Sea Frontier.
