1963 Press Photo John Pennel Sets Pole Vault Record in Florida Relays

Gainesville, Florida, March 30 - Sets Florida Relays pole vault record - John Pennel, of Northeast Louisiana State, easily clears the bar at 16 feet and one quarter inch to set a new pole vault record for the Florida Relays. The old mark was 15 feet and one-quarter inch, held by Henry Wadsworth of Florida.
