1962 Press Photo Discus Thrower Al Oerte Sets Record at Los Angeles Competition

Los Angeles, May 19 - Sending the discus 200 feet - Al Oerter, representing the New York Athletic Club, sends the discus on a world-record-breaking flight of 200 feet, 5-1/2 inches during last night's competition in the Los Angeles Coliseum Relays.
