A water main is installed below the Peoples Ave. canal, Filmore. A water main 50 inches in diameter is being installed 17 feet deep to extend beneath the Peoples Avenue canal at Filmore. The Sewerage & Water Board will connect the main to another water artery that passes under the Industrial canal. Future plans call for the extension of the main east of the Industrial canal to St. Charles rd. Cost of the projected system to furnish water to the East Gentilly area north of Highway 90 is $857,557. On Filmore Avenue at People's Avenue looking East toward Peoples Avenue Canal.
