1950 Press Photo Burial of Lieutenant Howell C. Thomas Jr., Arlington Cemetery

Arlington, Virginia. Taps is played as the body of 2nd Lieutenant Howell C. Thomas Jr. is about to be lowered into its grave at Arlington National Cemetery here today. His is the first casualty of the Korean War to be buried at Arlington. High-ranking Army officers and a delegation from the Korean embassy attended the full-dress military funeral.
