1948 Press Photo Atkinson-Drake Construction Official Francis L. McShane

Newburgh, New York, 11/12/1948 - Francis L. McShane, 45-year-old construction official for New York firm of Atkinson-Drake, was kidnapped by armed Greek guerrillas while building roads in Peloponnesus under American aid program, according to word received yesterday. A former professional football player and sports editor for the Newburgh News, McShane had worked for New York State Highway Department.
