The American Legion national commander expressed the view here Monday that legion units will support a new eligibility ruling concerning membership of the 40 and 8. Martin B. McKneally, 44, of Newburgh, N.Y., said the word "White" will be dropped from the requirements for eligibility of the legion's fun-making group.
