San Francisco, February 2 - Headed for Everest climb - three members of the first United States sponsored expedition planning to scale Mt. Everest held press conference in San Francisco yesterday. From left are Dr. WIlliam Siri, a University of California physicist and deputy team leader of the 20-member expedition; Dr. Gilbert Roberts and Dr. James T. Lester Jr. Most of the expedition's members are scheduled to depart San Francisco by air Sunday for Nepal.
