Description
Cuban child refugees arrive at their temporary home, the Catholic Refugee Center in Florida City, 35 miles from Miami. Each ticket for the flight from Havana to Miami costs $25. The child refugee flow adds up to a lot of American dollars for the Castro government, which has not tried to stop it. Twin sisters lead the way for this group. Even now and then in late 1960, the police here would come upon a Cuban refugee child wandering the streets, homeless, hungry and frightened.

Photo is dated 1962.

Photo measures 7 x 9.25 inches.
