1963 Press Photo Shoes Given Cuban Refugee Antonio Infante Upon Miami Arrival

Miami, Florida, March 5 - Refugee has feet on the ground - Antonio Infante exhibits holes in the soles of the shoes he was forced to wear when he arrived in Miami, Florida from Cuba today with 100 other Cuban Americans on a Red Cross plane that delivered ransom goods to Havana. Infante was accompanied by his 9-year-old daughter Sandra. Infante said gunmen stopped the bus he was riding en route to Havana recently and forced passengers to give up their wearable shoes.
