The booths are known in Russia as Kiosks and are set up in all Soviet cities. Booths were set up in all Soviet cities. Booths were set up in Moscow in 1924. The head of the Moscow information system says the booths there answer about 30,000 questions daily. Requests for addresses--both public and private---are the most numerous but information on telephone numbers, bus, train and plane schedules, and theater and movie listings also is available.
