A new observation tower for visitors nears completion today in this aerial view of the American section of Niagara Falls. The jagged edge of the escarpment between the tower and the Falls is where Prospect Point, famed as a tourist attraction for more than a century, collapsed in a rockfall in 1954. Goat Island, dividing the American Falls from the Horseshoe Falls, is in the background.
