Description
Jeannette MacDonald and a fellow actress in "Naughty Marietta". Naughty Marietta and friend cringing at the sight of pirates. Somebody was playing a piano before the lights went out and the black-and-white image flickered across the screen. The tune of "Embraceable You" was replaced by "Begin the Beguine." For half an hour, there had been more than 40 names on a waiting list---all wanting to see Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy in MGM's 1935 production of "Naughty Marietta." But at the box office (simply the entrance of First Unitarian Church) scores of others were being turned away because the "theater" only holds 180 people, and the season tickets for all eight movies had been sold out for a week already.

Photo is dated 1962.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
