Golfer Lawson Little, a former winner of the British and American amateur crowns and The American Open Championship, is an apprentice seaman at the U.S. Naval Training School here. He enlisted under the V-11 Officer-Candidate Program and, if all goes well, will be elevated to the rank of Lieutenant (Junior Grade) at the end of his first month of training.
