Description
San Francisco, California . . . When U.S. Immigration officials asked blonde, Mary Kid, German movie actress, if she had any friends in California, she replied "Marlene Dietrich." But, in response to a telegram asking if she know a "Gertrude Keul," Fraulein Kid's real name, Miss Dietrich replied "No," for it seems the Hollywood actress knows the German actress as Mary Kid. So Gertrude Keul-Mary Kid, who has played in more than sixty foreign films, speaks seven languages, was ordered to remain aboard the Danish East Asiatic Company's M.S. India, which she boarded in Vancouver en route to London. However, immigration officials permitted her to see San Francisco in company with Captain Sven Krarup of the India. When the vessel arrives in Los Angeles, Fraulein Keul-Kid will seek out Miss Dietrich and explain the joke. Mary Kid is shown above with Captain Sven Krarup.
