Heads Red unified military command - Bemedaled Soviet Marshal Ivan Konev was named supreme commander of the unified military command established in Warsaw, Poland today by the Soviet Union and seven east European allies. Konev, new serving as Soviet Deputy Defense Minister, has a reputation in both east and west as a fine professional soldier. Russia's allies include Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania and East Germany.
