1956 Press Photo Consecration of Oils at St. Louis Cathedral, New Orleans

Description
Hands clasped in prayer, the Most Reverend L. Abel Caillouet, auxiliary bishop of New Orleans, consecrates the oils in the St. Louis Cathedral this morning as other clergymen participate in the ceremony. The oils, to be used in the administering of the sacraments of baptism, confirmation, holy orders and extreme unction were consecrated during a solemn pontifical mass as part of the Holy Thursday observance.
