11/24 - New York: British permanent delegate to the United Nations Sir Gladwyn Jeff leans over to talk to United States delegate Henry Cabot Lodge (right) at a UN meeting 11/23. Sir Gladwyn will leave his post as permanent delegate to the UN, a position he has held since 1950, in March to become British Ambassador to France. He has been a participant in UN affairs since the organization's creation in 1946.
