Mary Healy and husband Peter Hayes, as a little girl growing up in New Orleans, Mardi gras meant a land of enchantment filled with mystery and excitement. It was very important to us children, there were four of us, just what costume we would wear and as long as I live I will remember the sound of my mother's machine running far into the night so that we would each have the costume we desired.
