1956 Press Photo Furniture formerly belonging to wife of King Carol of Rumania

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
This piece, one of the many antiques the Harriss home is furnished with, formerly belonged to the wife of King Carol of Rumania. Mirror-paneled and painted with touches of gold, it will be on display when the Dumaine Street cottage is open for the Spring Fiesta tours. The little cottage at 913 Dumaine has been standing there since 1820. It was built by M. Honore Landreaux, a wealthy French landowner. With its simple facade, its charming appeal and its shady, cool patio in back, it's seen a lot of history in its time.

Photo is dated 1956.

Photo measures 9.25 x 8.25 inches.
