Captain Walter Harrison . . . heads Reserve Air Wing Reserve air head named Walter J. Harrison, partner in the Crescent Commercial Company, has been appointed by the Navy Department to be head of the newly formed Naval Reserve Air Wing 82 at the New Orleans Naval Air Station. Captain William S. Harris, base commanding officer, said that Mr. Harrison, a senior captain in the Naval Reserve, has been active in Reserve affairs since before the war. Captain Harrison during the was was assigned to the USS Suwanee, one of the first aircraft carriers constructed after the war began. He later commanded the Escort Carrier School at Bremerton, Washington, and after that served at Casablanca, New Georgia, Tarawa, the Marshall Islands and Palau.
