Branch Rickey, a key figure in baseball, collapsed tonight while speaking at Missouri Sports Hall of Fame banquet in Columbia, Missouri. The 84 year old Rickey, the man who brought the first African American into major league baseball, paused while speaking and told the audience: "I don't think I can continue my speech." He was removed to a Columbia hospital.
