Here on the East Bank of the Mississippi is a construction project under way (although at this time completed). It is the $1 1/2 million Esplanade Avenue Wharf construction. Esplanade Avenue Wharf is 600 feet long and provides a berth for one ship. Notice the steel and concrete structure as opposed to the old wooden type wharves.
