The Reverend William Garnett Foster, Jr., the newly elected moderator of the Presbyterian churches in Louisiana, looked at the baseball he held in his hands. "There's nobody who believes more than I that baseball and other recreation can help delvelop our youth," he said. "There's no doubt that healthy recreation will aid in the fight on youthful delinquency, but let's not forget important points. We mustn't forget that young people must be developed also from the spiritual, moral, mental and religious standpoint. All those things are essential." Dr. Foster is pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Alexandria.
