David M. Ellison (left) is here shown as Secretary of State E.A. Conway, for whose department Ellison has served as attorney for nearly five years, administered the oath of office as secretary to the governor. Mr. Ellison was appointed by Governor Leche to succeed the late Joe Everett, whose sudden death Sunday afternoon vacated the secretaryship. Mr. Ellison, a Tulane law school graduate of 1926, is a native of Crowley, has served as secretary to Congressman Rene De Rouen, and was for some time one of the attorneys for the highway commission. He began his new duties as secretary at once.
