Description
Royalty - "No more German princes!" roared King Gustav Adolf of Sweden when discussing marriage plans for his granddaughter, Princess Desiree, 26. She agreed because she is in love with a Swede, Baron Niclas Silfverschiold, 29. But Niclas, whose ancestors helped established General Bernadotte on the Swedish throne in 1810 is a poor little rich boy. He inherited the old castle of Koburg, 10,000 acres, 270 head of cattle and vast art treasures, but he owes more than $250,000 in death duties and hasn't the cash. The baron thought he was too poor to marry a princess worth millions in her own right, but the King gave his blessings. Here the baron is showing portraits of his illustrious ancestors in one of the rooms at Koburg. The wedding is scheduled for June 5.
