This was the scene at Christie's here today as its Chairman, Mr. Ivan Chance, presided over the sale of Titanis 400 year old masterpiece "The Death of Actaeon," The painting was auctioned for 1,600,000 guineas (Dollars, 4,032,000), the second highest price ever paid for a masterpiece. The painting, owned by Lord Harwood, cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, was purchased by London dealer Julius Weitzner.

Photo is dated 1971.
