1945 Press Photo Children of New Orleans Presenting Check to Neighborhood Center

The children of New Orleans presented a check for $2494.52. representing half of the money received for waste paper collected in the city's fire stations, to the Orleans Neighborhood Centers Tuesday. James H. Drury, president of the centers, received the check from 11-year old Ray Persich, champion paper trooper at St. Joseph school. Miss Mercedes Discon chairman of waste paper salvage for the Community Volunteer Service was present.
