1973 Press Photo Greek Euphronios Vase Investigated by FBI, New York Art Museum

This 2,500-year-old Greek vase, acquired by New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art for $1 million, has become the object of a Federal Bureau of Investigation inquiry. Museum says it obtained the vase, attributed to Euphronios, from a dealer who sold it on behalf of a Lebanese family that claimed to have owned it since 1920.
