When Oscar de La Renta came to New Orleans to receive his first Rex Award in 1969, he introduced La Belle Epoque look and had the mannequins pile up their hair pompadour style. When he comes here September 13 to receive his second Rex Award from Maison Blanche at the Oyster to the Cultural Season extravaganza, he may spring another surprise.
