Notified of his nomination as the Republican choice for the Presidency, Governor Thomas E. Dewey and his wife boarded a chartered plane and flew to Chicago to deliver his acceptance speech. The GOP Presidential hopeful waves his hat to the cheering crowd which gathered to see him off. The flight was a duplicate of the one made by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1932, when the President flew to accept his first nomination by the Democratic party.

Photo is dated 1944.

Photo measures 7 x 9.25 inches.
