Description
Camel Corpsmen - In "Hawmps," a comedy opening Friday at the Gentilly Woods, Lakeside and Oakwood cinemas, James Hampton, left, and Christopher Connelly play members of the short-lived U.S.Calvary Camel Corp in the mid-19th century. The transportation experiment ended with the Civil War. Hampton, who was in town Tuesday, has appeared in several films as Burt Reynold's buddy. "The trouble with being Burt's friend," he said, "is that they offer you scale. Or they think you go for coffee or something." The actor has star billing in "Hawmps" so he can't play Reynolds' sidekick any more.

Photo is dated 1976.

Photo measures 9.75 x 8.25 inches.
