1966 Press Photo Gas-processing plant at Grand Chenier, La., Continental Oil Co.

Description
New, 500 million cubic feet per day gas-processing plant at Grand Chenier, La., has now gone on stream. The plant will be operated by Continental Oil Company for a group of companies including Conoco, Atlantic Richfield Company, Tidewater Oil Company, Cities Service Oil Company, Mobil Oil Company, Newmont Oil Company and Shell Oil Company. Photo was taken with scaffolding (now removed) still around the 130-foot tall de-methanizer tower as workmen completed placing of insulation on the tower. Construction on the plant started in spring of 1965. The plant will process gas from offshore Louisiana fields.
