1968 Press Photo Grass grows in Audubon Park Pool - No Funds to open Pool

As New Orleans officials hurriedly scrounged to satisfy the recreation needs of a hot, sticky summer, three of the finest - and driest - swimming pools in the area have emerged as symbols of poor planning and little vision. A huge pool at Audubon Park, once capable of cooling 5,000 youngsters at a time, will not open until August if at all.
