1961 Press Photo Bob Bailey of Wilson High Baseball is Pirate Or Braves Bound

Bob Bailey, 18, shortstop for Wilson High School, Long Beach, will sign a contract June 15, either with Pittsburgh Pirates or Milwaukee Braves, for $200,000, it was reported today by Fresno Bee columnist Tom Meehan. If true, this would give Bailey the highest bonus ever paid. Bailey graduates next Thursday and then would be eligible to sign a contract.
