Franz Hals' "The Lute Player," is admired by Leslie Hyam, president of New York's Parke-Bernet Galleries, after its purchase tonight for $600,000, the highest price ever paid for a work by the 17th Century Dutch artist. A London art dealer, bidding at the auction transatlantic telephone, bought the painting for an unidentified private collector.
