Description
The earth's last frontier - the ice-covered continent of Antarctica - is now open to tourists. In 1967 this boatload arrived at the Palmer Peninsula after a voyage across some of the stormiest seas in the world on an Argentine Navy transport. Antarctic tourists pay between $3,000 and $8,000 for the privilege of seeing today what only explorers could see yesterday.

Photo is dated 1968.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.
