1968 Press Photo Germany - German Workers Change Flags on Bradenburg Gate

Germany - German workers haul down the Red flag in a revolt 15 years ago today in the Soviet Zone against the despotic rule of the Soviet regime, and hoist the black, red and gold flag on the Bradenburg Gate. A total of 267 workers met their deaths during the uprising, 92 were executed by a firing squad and more than 1,000 were sentenced to long terms at hard labor.
