New Orleans - Work crews were busy today putting down new timber for the downriver ramp at the Algiers Ferry Landing, destroyed by fire last Tuesday night. A demolition crew is still clearing away fire debris. General Manager Marcel Serpas of Algiers Public Service said the Sunday rain slowed, but did not seriously disrupt repair work, going on round the clock.
