1961 Press Photo Cars pass through Beaumont to head north from Hurricane Carla

This is a picture of part of the many cars passing through Beaumont today heading for points north of here and out of the dangerous part of Hurricane Carla, expected to arrive on the Gulf coast sometime tomorrow. This highway leads into highways 69, 97, and 287. And these people are from Port Arthur and the mid-county area.
