June 23--Super jetliner--This is a drawing of the Super VC-10, super jetliner planned for the North Atlantic air routes. The aircraft, under construction by Britain's Vickers firm, will be capable of carrying 212 economy class passengers--62 more than on standard airliners. The Super VC-10, whose Rolls-Royce Conway engines are mounted well aft, is expected to have a cruising speed of nearly 575 miles per hour.
